A new video I made for the Sankofa Community Farm at Bartram's Garden. A great place on the banks of the river in South West Philadelphia. The wonderful people that run and support this farm are in the video. I feel grateful to have met them all. Please support the Garden & Farm! It is a Philadelphia treasure!

Thriving with Their Feet Wet
Frogs and water in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. MediaSmith Films latest project completed for the Pinelands Preservation Alliance. Filming at night in June with two experts on frogs and the Pine Barrens.
The Pine Barrens Tree Frog is emblematic of the quality of the ground water flowing from the aquifer and giving rise to unique wetlands throughout the Pinelands. The Pine Barrens Tree Frog is very sensitive to pollution and even minor changes to the quality of water in the Kirkwood-Cohansey aquifer.
Save the Source
I had the pleasure of directing this video with Carleton Montgomery (Executive Producer), Kevin Sparkman (Producer), and Jason Howell (videographer). I shot a good portion of this piece and completed the editing and voice-over direction.
Save the Source is a campaign to protect the 17-trillion gallon Kirkwood-Cohansey Aquifer, a vast reserve of fresh water beneath 80 percent of southern New Jersey and all of the Pinelands.
The Kirkwood-Cohansey is one of the largest and cleanest freshwater aquifers in the U.S., but it is threatened by overuse, pollution and outdated government regulations that fall short of protecting southern New Jersey’s water future.
